Dr. Richard D. Faber, attended Ohio State University and received a degree in Engineering. He received his dental degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland.

Following dental school, Dr. Faber completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut resulting in a Master’s Degree and his orthodontic certificate.


Since 1975, Dr. Faber has been an instrumental part in the Orthodontic Residency at SUNY Stony Brook. Dr. Faber is a Clinical Professor and in 2006 he became the Program Director of the Orthodontic Residency Program at the SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Faber also directs the Dentofacial Deformities program at Stony Brook and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

In his spare time, Dr. Faber likes tennis, golf and travelling the world. Dr. Faber is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an Active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Suffolk County Dental Society.

Dr. Faber is a past President of the North Atlantic Component of the Edward H. Angle Society.
