Having the opportunity to help change the lives of the people in my community by giving them beautiful smiles is more than just a job, it's my passion. I love seeing the transformations in both appearance and confidence my patients go through when they have braces. When they see their new smile for the first time, I know I have truly made a difference.
I am a product of the Half Hollow Hills School District and after graduating, I went to college at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. At Hopkins, I majored in Material Science Engineering, but after realizing my desire to help people achieve their potential, I decided to apply to dental school. After college, I followed my father, Dr. Richard Faber and grandfather, Dr. Albert Reitman to the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland. My orthodontic training was completed at the University of Connecticut where I received my Master's Degree and Orthodontic Certificate.
Continuing education is a vital part of being a successful orthodontist. I am an active member and founder of several study clubs across Long Island that collaborate across dental specialties. We all aspire to the greatest level of dentistry that can be provided to our patients. To help train the next generation of doctors, I teach the orthodontic residents at SUNY Stony Brook and volunteer to teach at the Dentofacial Deformities Clinic and the Pediatric Residency Program at Schneider's Hospital.
Being involved in my community is extremely important to me. I am the co-chair of the Long Island Chapter of Smiles Change Lives, a national organization through which orthodontists provide access to life-changing, essential orthodontic treatment for children in low-income families. Based in Kansas City, the program has treated more than 1,200 children since 1997. With its origin as the Virginia Brown Community Orthodontic Partnership, Smiles Change Lives has emerged as the nation's leader in providing access to orthodontic care for underserved youth.
I am married to my wonderful wife, Brooke, and we have two sons, Austin and Grant. When I'm not in the office, I am an avid golfer. I also run half-marathons, play soccer, lacrosse, and football, and was a shot putter for the track team.
